Scabies
Symptoms
- Raised red skin
- Blisters, pustules, or scabs
- Intense itching, especially at night
Characteristics
- Time from exposure to illness is one to two months
- Commonly found on hands, arms, at or above wrist line, or on thighs
- Transferred directly from an infected person
- Can be transmitted by undergarments or freshly-soiled sheets
School Action and Communicability Comments
- Exclude your child from school until you have written verification of treatment.
- Scabies is communicable until treated.
- Your entire family should be examined and your house thoroughly cleaned.
