Ringworm (Tinea Corporis)
 
Symptoms
  • Ring-shaped or irregular skin patch with raised pimple-like or scaly borders
  • Site may show central clearing
  • Site may become inflamed and crusted

Characteristics

  • Time from exposure to symptoms is one to three weeks
  • Spread by human, animal, or clothing infected with fungus or spores

School Action and Communicability Comments

  • Exclude your child from school until you have doctor's verification of treatment.
  • Ringworm is communicable until clear.
