Strep Throat
 
Symptoms
  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

Characteristics
  • Time from infection to illness is one to three days
  • Spread directly from nose and throat discharges of infected persons

School Action and Communicability Comments
  • If your child is diagnosed, exclude them from school for 24 hours after antibiotic treatment is started and until clinically well.
  • Strep is communicable until 24 hours after treatment has started.
